We at BVM started a new initiative in 2014 to infuse patriotism in our students and to honour the troops who guard our country. The festival of Raksha Bandhan is symbolic of trust and protection and what better way than to celebrate it with the people who work tirelessly to keep our nation safe. Students of classes 6 to 8 of BVM Global and the students of BVMi were taken to the Pioneer Corps Army Training Centre on Aug 10, 2017, to tie rakhi and perform for the jawans in order to show our love and affection to the women and men in uniform. The children put up a cultural show consisting of a speech and a skit depicting the importance of this festival and the significance in the bonding we have with our jawan brethren. Also soon we are approaching the eve of the Independence Day. The show, therefore, also depicted the patriotic fervour in our unity in a very diverse country like ours through a song and a dance. Commandant U B Gurung in his speech, among other words of encouragement to the young audience, appreciated the institution for creating such an opportunity to the children. He also applauded the efforts of the school in aspiring to impress upon the young minds the sense of patriotism required to guide them towards directly impacting the future of this nation.
