Children’s Day for the primary and middle school children was celebrated in a fun way in the school lobby on Novemeber 14, 2016. Children, dressed in vibrant coloured dresses, were waiting for the program by the teachers with great anticipation.
The program began with an invocation to the almighty followed by Ms. Subhapradha sharing the thought for the day. Teachers got together in groups and presented various items to the children such as songs in Hindi and Kannada, a humorous skit in English and an energetic dance performance. Ms. Shakti shared about the significance and reason behind celebrating this day as Children’s Day in India. She also highlighted the fact that the World Children’s Day is on November 20 as per UN declaration.
Today also being Gurupurab, a few words of significance about Guru Nanak and Sikhism was shared by Ms. Ruchi.
The Principal addressed the children and emphasized the value of listening and learning through paying attention.
The program ended with National Anthem and the children were treated to sweets on the way back to their classes.
