Primary and Middle School Sports Day 2016

The Sixth Annual Primary and Middle School Sports Day at BVM Global @ Bengaluru was held on November 12, 2016, at the school grounds. The chief guest for the day was Prof. Sam Martin Christopher, Principal, Bishop Cotton Academy, Yelahanka. The chief guest was welcomed by the school band and was escorted by the Principal to the stage, led by the band.  Samitha of Class V gave the welcome speech while Anuska Mohanty of class V read his profile to the audience. The sports day began with an invocation to the almighty. The band led the four houses Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari and Cauvery in the march-past. The four house captains led their respective houses through the march-past. Each house offered its salute to the chief guest. Shruti Nigam of class VIII and other captains formed a semicircle holding their flags and took the oath. This was followed by the Olympic torch relay with Shruti Nigam of class VIII bearing the torch first. The torch was then carried by Swati, Aditya Ravi, Hiten and Varsha, in that order, and the cauldron was lit. Various drills and displays by students of classes I to VIII were staged. These included the pompom drill, hula hoop-butterfly drill, ball drill and dumb bell drill by classes I to IV respectively. Yoga being an integral part of our curriculum, students of class V displayed their proficiency in yoga by performing various yoga asana. This was followed by boys of classes VI-VIII presenting various pyramid formations and girls displaying their aerobic skills. The track events for students of classes V to VIII conducted next. Parents too had an exciting event. The chief guest delivered an inspiring speech addressing both the students and the parents. This was followed by the prize distribution ceremony. The overall championship was bagged by Ganga house. The overall championship trophy for boys went to Hiten of class VIII while the overall championship for girls went Samhitha of class VI. The vote of thanks was delivered by Bhavana of class VI. The program came to a conclusion with the National Anthem.
