Rakshabandhan Celebration

Students of BVM Global @ Bengaluru celebrated Rakshabandhan, the festival that is a celebration of the love and bonding between brothers and sisters, in a unique way with a visit to the Pioneer Corps Training Centre in Bangalore on August 17, 2016.  This was done to show their respect and gratitude to the jawans who serve the country unmindful of the cost.

The celebration began with the prayer song followed by a speech on Rakshabandhan in Hindi by Shruti Nigam of class VIII. Next, students of classes VI to VIII sang a patriotic song ‘Maithrim Bhajatha.’

Varsha of Class VII gave a speech in English thanking the soldiers for their discipline, honour, courage, and loyalty; for living a life of service and sacrifice serving the nation and the people of India.   The girls of classes VI to VIII sang the song, ‘Jahaan Daal Daal Par,’ a song dedicated to the diversity of the nation. The penultimate item for the day, which was a treat to the eyes, was a fusion dance by the students to a patriotic song.

The principal, Ms. Suman Kalra presented a bouquet to Col. B. Srinivas as a token of respect. In his address to students Col. Srinivas said that it is the respect and appreciation that soldiers receive from people that encourages them and spurs them on in serving the nation.

The principal thanked the Colonel and the jawans for giving the students an opportunity to meet them to tie rakhis and for enabling the students to understand and value the lives of people in the armed forces.

Shruti Nigam, the head girl of the school tied a rakhi to the colonel following which the other girls tied rakhi to the jawans.
