ANNUAL SPORTS DAY 2015 - 16

The Fifth Annual Sports Day at BVM Global @Bengaluru was held on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the School grounds. Sahana and Johan of class VIII were the comperers for the day. The chief guest for the day was Colonel B Srinivas.

As the chief guest Col. Srinivas and Mrs. Srinivas alighted at the venue, they were each presented with a rose by Niranjana and Vishruth of class V and welcomed by the band. They were escorted by the principal and led to the stage by the band. Aditya Swaminathan of Class VII, gave the welcome speech. The sports day began with an invocation to the almighty. 

The band led the four houses in the march past. The Ganga house was led by its Captain, Akil, bearing blue flag and the Vice Captain, Bavana. The Kaveri house was led by its Captain, Adhitya, bearing yellow flag and the Vice Captain, Sri Ranjani. The Krishna house was led by Captain Arun, bearing green flag and the Vice Captain, Shreya. The Yamuna house was led by its Captain, Pranav, bearing red flag and the Vice Captain, Bavana. 

Each house offered its salute to the chief guest. Sidharth Sri of class VIII and other captains formed a semicircle holding their flags. Sidharth took the oath with the captains and the chief guest declared the Fifth BVM Global @ Bengaluru Sports meet open. This was followed by the Olympic torch relay with Sidharth Sri of class VIII bearing the torch first. The torch was then carried by Shreya Venkat, Shuvam Bose, Samyuktha and Arnav consecutively and the cauldron was lit. 

Students of classes I, II, III and IV displayed pom pom drill, cap drill, ball drill and fan drill respectively. Yoga being an integral part of our curriculum, students of V and VI displayed their proficiency in yoga by performing surya namaskar and various yoga asasnas. This was followed by students presenting various pyramid formations. Girls of classes VII and VIII displayed their maneuvers at Karate. They also presented a few basic techniques in self defence. This was followed by the track events for students of classes IV to VIII. Parents too had an exciting event, which was organized by Ms.Anupama.

The chief guest gave an inspiring speech and also gave Rs.10, 000 to the school. Ms. Subha announced the prize winners and students collected their prizes from the Principal with great enthusiasm. The overall championship was bagged by Kaveri house. The overall championship trophy for the boys went to Akil of class VI while the overall championship for the girls went Samyuktha. They also won Rs.1000 each from the chief guest. The vote of thanks was given by Samarth of class VII. The program came to a conclusion with the National Anthem.
