1st June 2017 was a special day for BVM KIDS @ Bengaluru since it was the first day of school for the students of Pre-KG. As is the tradition of the school, Aksharabhyasam was conducted for our tiny tots.
The function began with a prayer. The class room was decorated with flowers and a photo of Goddess Saraswati was kept ready. The pooja was performed by our Sanskrit teacher, Mr Srihari, in a traditional manner and the children were made to write, “Om GanapathiyaiNamah” and “Om SaraswathiyaiNamah” in their mother tongue on the Aksharabhyasam rice plates. A welcome card and handout were presented to each child.
Ms. Suman Kalra, the Principal, and Ms.Gauri Jethwani, KG teacher, gave an orientation to the parents to explain the BVM Philosophy. Her PowerPoint presentation was replete with photographs of different activities in which the children participate in the school. The gradations of learning in KG were explained in detail.
Parents were also informed about the dress code, the need for sending healthy snacks and other necessary guidelines. The principal dealt with the unparalleled role that parents play in the upbringing of their children. The presentation ended with a question-answer session.
The vote of thanks was presented by the vice principal, Ms, Gowri K.
