National Youth Day, the birthday of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated on January 12, 2017 by the students of classes VI to VIII. Several inspiring quotes by Swami Vivekananda were shared by students. The Vice Principal, Ms. Gowri related some incidents from Swami Vivekananda’s life, highlighting his wit, spontaneity and wisdom to the students. The students were then shown a short video on the life of Swami Vivekananda. In conclusion, Ms. Shakti Charkrabarti referred to the Parliament of World Religions (1893) in Chicago where Swami Vivekananda put India on the world map. Ms. Charkrabarti emphasized the need for self-reflection on everyone’s part and how each should strive to imbibe Swami Vivekananda’s qualities and the ideas he stood for.
